NOC Back Office Technician – Network Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled NOC Back Office Technician to support the 24/7 availability, continuity, and performance of our core and access networks. This role is critical in ensuring the operational health of the IP Backbone (MPLS), Transport (DWDM), Microwave Radio, ISP, and Fixed Active Networks (MSANs), including supporting systems such as AAA, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.

The ideal candidate will provide Tier 2 support, escalate to Tier 3 vendors when necessary, and contribute to incident resolution, network optimization, and performance monitoring. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Network Operations Center.

STANDARD JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in IP and Transport networks.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and performance KPIs.
  • Experience with operational monitoring tools, incident management, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and outside of normal working hours when required.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Network Operations Support: Monitor, maintain and optimize IP Backbone, Transport, ISP, and Fixed Active Networks. Ensure 24/7 availability and performance.
  • Incident & Problem Management: Provie Tier 2 support by analyzing and troubleshooting network issues, escalate to Tier 3 when needed, and document root causes and resolutions.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor network capacity and performance, maintain detailed operational records, and support SLA compliance.
  • Change & Configuration Management: Support implementation of network changes, manage spare parts, and assist in onboarding new network elements.
  • Disaster Recovery & Calamity Response: Provide support during major network incidents and natural disasters, ensuring timely recovery and communication.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with internal departments including Engineering, IT, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless operations.
