ABOUT DIGI:

Digi owns and operates an extensive telecommunications network throughout the country of Belize in wireline, wireless and data services. The company offers and uses a wide range of products and technologies that include fixed line telephone service, fixed wireless, national and international calling services, prepaid services, an advanced LTE mobile network, international voice, and data roaming, Fiber internet and data services.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a visionary General Manager – Information Technology to lead the strategic direction, operational services, and digital transformation initiatives of our company. The GM of IT will oversee teams responsible for solutions architecture, data engineering, systems administration, and IT support, ensuring technology enables growth, innovation, and operational excellence. This role reports to the Consultant TechCo

STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • 7 years in an Applications Management and Support role and 5 years in an IT Managerial role.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional technology teams, including applications development, architecture, and data management, as well as design and management of IT Operations and infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, application lifecycle management, solution and data architecture best practices, IT Security, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal, leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and telecom standards is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and execute the IT and Data strategy to support the telecom company’s growth, innovation, and operational goals.
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on all IT and data matters.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to automate business processes and enhance customer experience.

Team & Operational Management

  • Manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Oversee IT service delivery lifecycles, service delivery, vendor services, operations, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure system availability, security, scalability, and performance

Data & Analytics Governance:

  • Own the enterprise data architecture, ensuring data is clean, accessible, secure, and aligned with business needs.
  • Drive data governance initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Support the selection and adoption of data management tools and services.

Technology Innovation:

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations on adoption to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Manage and support labs and vendor initiatives to define and deploy services for the business.
  • Oversee implementation of new software, platforms, and cloud services.

Data & Analytics Governance:

  • Own the enterprise data architecture, ensuring data is clean, accessible, secure, and aligned with business needs.
  • Drive data governance initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Support the selection and adoption of data management tools and services.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage IT contracts, budgets, forecasts, and cost management processes.
  • Build and manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers.
