ABOUT THE ROLE: The Facilities Handyman plays a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity and readiness of the company’s physical infrastructure, including office buildings, data centers, and remote sites. This role ensures the performance, availability, and upkeep of power and cooling systems, contributing directly to the company’s 24/7 service continuity and disaster preparedness. The position demands a proactive approach to facility operations, preventive maintenance, and general handyman tasks to support nationwide infrastructure and service reliability.
STANDARD JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in facilities or technical operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Visio.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage workload under pressure and respond to emergencies.
- Willingness to work beyond regular hours and travel across the country.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute maintenance plans for facilities and infrastructure, including electrical, cooling, and mechanical systems.
- Perform general handyman tasks such as repairs to windows, doors, locks, and minor building upkeep.
- Monitor and log all operational tasks related to power, cooling, and facility performance.
- Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of generator rooms and facility compounds.
- Coordinate with contractors for landscaping and debris removal.
- Record utility meter readings and ensure adequate supplies for on-site staff.
- Respond to facility-related issues and escalate major faults to appropriate personnel.
- Support the disaster recovery and emergency readiness of all operational facilities.
- Assist in managing vehicle fleet and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Facilities Operations and internal departments for seamless operations.
