    Rigger

    ABOUT DIGI:

    Digi owns and operates an extensive telecommunications network throughout the country of Belize in wireline, wireless and data services. The company offers and uses a wide range of products and technologies that include fixed line telephone service, fixed wireless, national and international calling services, prepaid services, an advanced LTE mobile network, international voice, and data roaming, Fiber internet and data services.

     

    ABOUT THE ROLE:
    We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Rigger to join our team in Belize City. The Rigger will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of towers, antenna systems, transmission lines, and related equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a rigging team. The Rigger will report to the Manager of Access Network and interact with various departments to ensure the efficient operation of the network.

    STANDARD JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate degree in related field
    • Vocational Diploma/Certificate in Telecommunications Rigging Installation or equivalent
    • 2 years of experience in antenna rigging
    • Experience in and comfortable with working at heights of up to 400 feet
    • Knowledge of fall protection practices, tower lifesaving techniques, and safety guidelines for working near RF fields

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Erect towers, install and align antennas, test transmission lines, power feeds, and ground tower equipment.
    2. Replace faulty equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and adjust antenna systems as needed to ensure optimal performance.
    3. Manage incidents and problems related to tower-mounted equipment, ensuring smooth coordination with the NOC for issue resolution.
    4. Take new towers and antenna systems into operation after successful testing and acceptance of project deliverables.
    5. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, adhere to performance KPIs, and submit required reports on tower maintenance, acceptance, and scope of work.

    • Effective team player with strong communication skills to coordinate with colleagues, contractors, and other departments.
    • Flexible in dynamic environments, self-motivated, and committed to completing tasks efficiently while adhering to safety and operational standards.
