ABOUT ROLE:
The Mobile & IMS Cloud Core Implementation & Migration Expert is a critical technical leadership role responsible for driving the modernization, design, and deployment of Digi’s Mobile Core and IMS network infrastructure. Directing cloud-native transformation and migration initiatives, this role ensures long-term scalability, network resilience, and seamless operational performance. Additionally, the role is heavily focused on technical governance and cross-functional leadership, requiring close collaboration with internal engineering teams, vendor partners, and executive stakeholders to evaluate complex architecture, mitigate technical risks, and enforce high-quality deployment standards across Digi’s next-generation mobile network.
STANDARD JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, required.
- Master’s Degree in Telecommunications, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, required.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in Mobile Core Network, IMS, and telecommunications infrastructure planning, engineering, and optimization.
- Huawei Certified Internetwork Expert (HCIE) certification or equivalent advanced telecommunications certification, with specialization in Mobile Core, Cloud, and IMS technologies.
- Strong expertise in mobile core network technologies, cloud-native telecommunications infrastructure, and network virtualization platforms
- Experience reviewing and validating High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), network architecture documents, and technical solution proposals.
- Experience supporting network modernization, cloud transformation, system integration, acceptance testing, and migration activities within a telecommunications environment.
- Ability to assess technical risks, evaluate vendor solutions, and provide recommendations aligned with industry best practices and operational requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated experience preparing technical reports, capacity forecasts, engineering assessments, and executive-level recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with vendors, project teams, and senior management.
- Knowledge of 4G and future Core Network technologies and cloud-based telecommunications architectures would be considered an asset.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mobile Core & IMS Advisory
- Deliver expert technical guidance on core modernization, evaluate vendor proposals (BOQs) and solution designs, and identify risks to drive commercial and technical alignment
Network Design & Architecture Review
- Review and validate High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) documents to ensure designs meet requirements for scalability, security, resilience, and future network evolution.
Implementation & Technical Oversight
- Supervise installation, commissioning, and configuration activities to verify that deployed solutions match approved designs and pass rigorous acceptance testing.
Migration & Operational Readiness
- Assess migration procedures, rollback strategies, and operational KPIs to support go/no-go decisions and ensure post-migration network stabilization.
Integration & Vendor Coordination
- Manage third-party system integrations, validate end-to-end service functionality, and resolve interface issues with external vendors and internal teams.
Project Governance & Knowledge Transfer
- Deliver technical reports to stakeholders, maintain risk and lesson-learned records, and facilitate smooth operational handover to operations.
