Mr. Markhelm Lizarraga, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Belize Telemedia Limited (BTL), reaffirmed Digi’s unwavering dedication to its partnership with the Government of Belize. In a symbolic gesture, he presented a cheque worth $6,823,454.60 to the Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and E-Governance, symbolizing Digi’s pivotal role in fueling Belize’s economic growth and development.
Mr. Lizarraga further extended Digi’s commitment by presenting a cheque of $3,400,000.00 to the Social Security Board (SSB), amplifying the returns on investments for the organization. Digi, Our National Telecom, made a substantial mark at the 21st Caribbean Ministerial ICT Seminar, hosted by the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) from April 11th to 13th, 2024, at ! the San Ignacio Hotel. The event brought together esteemed ministers, regulators, and policymakers from across the Caribbean to discuss pertinent issues shaping the region’s digital landscape.
The seminar covered a wide array of topics crucial to the advancement of the Caribbean’s telecommunications sector, including the 5G Global and Caribbean Situation, Green Energy, Digital Trust, and Digital Prosperity. Digi’s Chief Executive
Officer, Mr. lvan Tesucum, and Chief Commercial Officer, Mrs. Dionne Emtage, played pivotal roles in addressing these topics, offering valuable insights and perspectives.
