    Senior Mechanic

    “Senior Mechanic”

    within the Corporate Division, with duty station in “Belize City”

     

    ABOUT DIGI:

    Digi owns and operates an extensive telecommunications network throughout the country of Belize in wireline, wireless, and data services. The company offers and uses a wide range of products and technologies that include fixed line telephone service, fixed wireless, national and international calling services, prepaid services, an advanced LTE mobile network, international voice and data roaming, fiber internet, and data services.

    ABOUT ROLE:

    The Senior Mechanic is responsible for leading fleet maintenance operations, ensuring the availability, safety, reliability and cost-effective performance of all company vehicles, generators and transport assets. The role provides technical leadership, supervises maintenance activities, drives continuous improvement initiatives and supports BTL business continuity and disaster response operations.

    STANDARD JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Associate degree or technical certification in automotive technology or a related field.
    • Minimum three (3) years of fleet maintenance experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
    • Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, generators, fleet systems and maintenance planning.
    • Valid Driver’s License

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Fleet Availability Management – Fleet remains operational and available to support all business activities.
    • Preventative Maintenance Program – Maintenance activities completed before failures occur.
    • Corrective Maintenance & Repairs – Vehicle and equipment downtime minimized.
    • Fleet Cost Optimization – Maintenance and repair expenses controlled within approved budgets.
    • Inventory & Spare Parts Control – Adequate spare parts availability while minimizing excess inventory.
    • Generator Reliability Management – Backup power assets remain operational and ready for deployment. Refuel of bulks tanks.
    • Oversight of Mechanic & Assistant Mechanics – Effectively guide, monitor, and support team to ensure quality maintenance work and timely completion of assigned tasks.
