Merilyn Young
- Director
Merilyn Young provides strategic oversight and visionary guidance during the company’s digital transformation. Prior to her role at Digi, Young held senior interim leadership positions within Belize’s cultural sector. Most notably, she served as Interim President of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) from late 2021 until May 2023. Taking on this role during the unprecedented financial challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, she partnered closely with the board to streamline operations, enhance organizational efficiency, and position the Institute for sustained positive development.
She has long been an advocate for entrepreneurship in Belize and has spent many years promoting programs that support local entrepreneurs. Separately, she has organized and participated in trade missions to Central America, the Caribbean, and Asia, creating opportunities for Belizean businesses to expand into international markets. During her tenure at Beltraide, she continued to support local business development through various initiatives. Beyond her professional contributions, she remains deeply committed to community service, actively supporting underprivileged groups and children from diverse cultural backgrounds, consistently giving back and fostering meaningful social impact.
